cumonwire - no way buddy.....I definitely take Cat over JC right now. Not that JC still isn't capable, but Manzi looks as good as he's ever looked in his career.....this guy amazes me.  And regarding Marsh at SPK, I agree he was solid there....I wonder how many driving titles he won there vs magee in the 80's???

The owners and trainer at the BigM agree with you.  But JC says he still has "it" but he's not getting the horses like he use to.  If it continues like this, he'll probably retire, ala Jim Brown -before his time not after-

As for driving titles, I remember Ronnie Marsh winning with horse at Sportsman's which had no business winning, just because of the perfect moves he made at the far turn.  At Sportsman's (not saying anywhere else) Ronnie would have won all the races Dave won with his horses, but I doubt Dave would have had the same success with Ronnie's horses.  If you follow what I'm trying to say.

I agree marsh was very good on the 5/8.....no question. that 5/8 track was a lot of fun to handicap races at wasn't it?  what a shame what they did to spk....

Joe B

you got that right.  Back in the late 70's the bottom race was $10,000clm.  Those were great nights.
