I just received this email from the Christian Harness Horseman's Association about Ken Ushermon.

On 7/27/06 I forward a statement I had received entitled Driver Down and detailed some of Ken Ushermon's injuries in an accident at Cal Expo- The article also said - "Ken had no medical insurance that would cover him..." Please read the following clarification received today and use your own judgment.
In Jesus' Love,  Weldon Stockwell

Hello Weldon:        I apologize for the delay in responding, but I have been out of the office until today.                                   The information you have on Ken Usherson and the 7/26/06 accident at Cal Expo is incorrect.     The Sacramento Harness Association purchased The On Track Driver/Trainer Accident Insurance to cover the drivers and trainers while harness racing and training at Cal Expo during the period of 1/1/06 through 7/29/06.  This insurance provides 100,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment, $250,000 Accident Medical (payable for 52 weeks), and $350 Weekly Disability, (payable up to 104 weeks).

In addition, Mr. Usherson, as a USTA licensed Driver and/or Trainer,  has the 24 Hour Accident Insurance, both the Mandatory that is included with the USTA dues that pays $25 a week ( for a maximum of 26 weeks) and also the Voluntary Plan, Option 2 that pays $500 Weekly Disability (payable up to 104 weeks).  The disability, under both the Mandatory and the Voluntary Plans, is payable after a 30 day elimination period.

Let me know if I can be of further help.  Victoria Hill   Van Gundy Insurance

This a real good news!
