I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. This day always makes me take a step back and be thankful for what I have, and think of the people that are less fortunate. When I lived in Las Vegas, every year at this time I went to the homeless shelter on Martin Luther King Drive, in the heart of the city, to volunteer and help out with serving Thanksgiving dinner to the poor and homeless. It always made me appreciate life and take nothing for granted. I am eating an early dinner today with my wife and then going to a small local church to help out with serving dinner to underprivileged families in the community.

This day is all about peace, love and spending time with friends and family. I wish there was a way to insure that every person on the face of this earth, be fed a Thanksgiving feast and able to enjoy time with their friends and family, life is way too short not to. There are so many people starving and unable to get help it is disheartening. Today is really a day to reflect back and think about your purpose in this life and help out any way humanly possible. I can tell you first-hand that when you volunteer your time and efforts to help others that are less fortunate, you will have a general feeling of warmth throughout your body.

No bashing today on BTW, please. Let’s take this day to give thanks for everything we have and look forward to a loving, peaceful tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and enjoy your day off, from your BTW friend.

Best Regards,

A special Happy Thanksgiving goes out to Janine and all of the horsemen/women who work day and night to earn their way in life. I remember all to well how difficult it is for horsemen/women to enjoy this day because of having to feed and care for their horses. My hat is off to each and every one of you people because I was in your position not that long ago. Please try to take some time and enjoy the day with your friends and family, you deserve it.

PS- Thanks and the same to you Chitown Stan. Enjoy your day.

Joe D, I've been to the Salvation Army camp on Owens and on MLK Dr. in LV many times to assist as needed.  Everyone who is down on their luck needs a helping hand every once in a while.  To hear the stories of how people were this close to having it all, then tragedy, collapse, and misery swept over their lives like a tidal wave...it does make me appreciate how good we all have it .  Sorry I couldn't live up to your no-bashing edict, but the "Evil Axis" really has me steamed this holiday.  Happy Thanksgiving to you, Kel, your 20 (LOL) brothers and sisters and also to all the real, esteemed posters to this forum.  I again echo RTP's sentiment expressed in his thread of apecial thanks to Janine for driving this "family car" each and every day.  Without her guidance, this could not have become the #1 forum in all harness racing.  To the honest horsemen, may Michael Rogers often be replaced by Brent Holland, and may honest horsemen everywhere continue to get opportunities to showcase their legitimate skills.  TC

Thanks for the warm wishes TROLL, and the same to you. I'm not getting started today so don't even try it.

It might be nice if you spent some time with your loved ones and enjoyed the day helping those less fortunate than yourself.

  Chitown Stan:

I'll take the first step and offer Happy Holiday's to everyone, I mean everyone, even Tom Wendt. When I think about how childish I behave at times, it really is distasteful. I also want to apologize to anyone I may have offended on the forum over the past year. It's a good time for all of us to put our heads together and make this forum the best it can be.

Special note to NJ Horsemen Paul:

I also extend an apology to you for the ill written letter the other day. It showed an ugly side of me that I never intended to be exposed. Please excuse me, I was having a bad week at school and there was no excuse. Let's try to be helpful and courteous to each other on this forum.

Once again, to the entire forum, please accept my apologies if I have offended any of you. Let's work together and have some fun on here.

Best Regards,

The hatchet is always buried with me. I say what's on my mind and then it's over. Why hold grudges against people you don't even know. Maybe I do know them. I had a dream last night that I ran into Tony Morgan. He stopped and looked at me and said " Hey ***..You're Nut's " I said no hard feelings Tony and good luck at Dover. Then the next thing I know in the dream I'm getting off a boat in Marco Island with my wife and mother-in-law headed into the " Snook Inn " for lunch. In walks Langley with Stan Banks. Langley looks over at me and says " What the hell are you doing down here..let me buy you and your family lunch. Then he says to me " I'll have those stalls ready for you when you show up next summer ". I said, Thanks anyway Phil, but I'm not coming because John Schwartz is building a track in Vegas. This is crazy stuff.

Well viewers, I need to start boiling some eggs. I have about 3 dozen deviled eggs to make for Thanksgiving. Greg Jacobson and Wing Wong want me to drop off a tray to them before they leave for work. We will be eating late today because my wife and daughter don't get off work until 6PM. You know how it is when you work for a casino.

So " Happy Thanksgiving " to all. And a special " Happy Thanksgiving " goes out to my good friend Ray Howard back in Chicago and I wish him well with his new claim. Only 30 more days Ray until you're here with me, SN and the boys firing bullets.

P.S.
We're expecting a high of around 71 today. Wish you were all here.

Joe D. I echo your words. Help a deserving person who is down on their luck. Our corrupt government and greedy utility companies in the midwest are making life miserable for once proud middle class citizens. People are losing and will lose their payed for homes because of ungodly high property taxes so polititions can spend and steal like drunken sailors.

Superman:

I apologize for the turkey on your cape. I hope you did not spill any gravy on the large letter "S" that fills your chest. If that happens, we will have to call you "uperman" until you get that shirt to the dry cleaners. Just a little heads up, if you are taking your "S" shirt and cape to the dry cleaners, get there early because the service runs unusually slow this time of year.
