One of my racing buddies read the article in the DRF and made sure I read it.  Then he told me he has a friend who is a racing commish back east.  He called him and asked him about fixing races and is this still happening.  His freind said it's more than ever now.  The commish told him things that are unbelieveable.  I though most of this went on only in the fair curcuit.  So sad, so mad.  This racing buddy is well connected and very well respected.  This is not gossip.  I am sure you all know this as well, but sheesh.  Guess I am so naive about these things.  The nine horse at Hollywood in the (I think it was the 8th race) sure looked like a fix to us.

Pam,

What irony! I knew Midwestern trainers who refused to go to Chicago in the '50s, '60s and early '70s unless they were "connected," if you get my drift. They would to to places like Philly Park, Penn National, Bowie, Charlestown, Shenandoah and others.
