I was in the paddock yesterday before the fifth race and noticed an old Arlington paddock host walking around the paddock interior??  it was Elanor Flaven, she appeared to be with Frank Calabrese while saddeling My Calabrese and also she was with the Frank group for the winner's circle picture after the race.  Nice to see an old pretty face and a very good past paddock host again.  Just wondering if anyone else noticed her yesterdat?

My memory might not be that great, but was she ever the paddock host at AP? I know she did the recap show and all, but I don't recall her being the host.

Eleanor has to be almost 50.  I remember her at Maywood in the very early 80's.  She was certainly quite attractive then.  She did a credible job as commentator.

Yes she was the paddock host at Arlington for a couple summer's!!  And I would like to see you call Mr. Calabrese a pole smoker to his face!!  All talk from another coward hiding behind a screen name.  WE need John FRank back soon?

I'll go with never was host as well, I recall her from the nightly wrap up show on Sportschannel or whatever it was, but even then she was more the harness side of things.

Agree, never a regular day host at AP.  I remember her from Maywood and the nightly Harness show.  I also remember her having a TV show with the TB's, so there was footage of her at AP, but I seem to recall it was just on the weekends.  Mid-1990's.  Big Wally's list has all of the prior seasons' regular horses except Chrstine Gabriel.

How about Ed Canaughton?  He hosted the racing show on 26 I believe some 25 years ago.
He disappeard mysteriously.  Some say he was implicated in some thievery.

I thought Ed retired to Hawaii. Didn't Ed end his shows by saying " if you have one for the road make it a cup of coffee"? and we can add superjock Gerry Gallitano to the list.

Ed went to Hawaii and hosted some shopping channel in the early days of that kind of thing.
He also has issues with the bottle.

Gallitano was last seen being a Blackjack dealer on a riverboat.

Per Phil Georgeff, Ed traded one addiction in for another.  I think that he quit drinking, but still liked to pump it through the windows pretty good.

I hope it's true he quit the bottle.
