more bad press this morning and this is pissin me off. Also, some "patrick" trainer got on the phone and said some bull shit about owners putting pressure on them to breeze and shit...that's total bullshit! He said horses "are breaking down more at Arlington because owners go there to watch thier horses breeze and not at Hawthorne." WTF? Let me get this straight, if I watch my horses breeze, they'll break down? Do your *** job and we won't have a problem! Anyone hear this on the score this morning?

Heard the tail end of the interview with the Colonel and the call-in by the trainer (Patrick).

The Colonel was politicing for a longer season with fewer days of racing per week next year. Didn't hear the start of the interview so not sure what he had to say about track conditions and recent addition of pine bark to the surface. Last week he was interviewed and said the track was fine. If the track was in such great shape why mess with it and add the pine bark?

Not sure who "Patrick" is. When asked about the breakdowns at AP he either didn't understand the question or skirted the issue. His response was to the effect that horses were being asked to run too fast, too young. He did state that owners pressure a trainer to train/race at AP rather than HAW.

What does the Colonel know about horseracing.  I know he probably has a great military background which I respect very much. He better let Mr. D or Kevin Greeley speak for the Track. I know they have been around the Horseracing industry for a long time.

I wish I had heard this call.  Whoever this person is, sure doesn't get it.  If he is a trainer at AP he should do what most good trainers do and use the training track for most of the morning jogs.  It's much deeper and softer.

As for owners wanting to race in IL, it's hard not to race at AP.  If you only shoot for Hawthorne, you're racing is extremely limited.  If you run at FP, it's really hard to make any money.

Who was hosting the show on WSCR?

Nobody breezes horses around the training track unless they have a death wish.

They do  breeze on it usually right before the TT opens or right before it closes.
But with your limited lack of racing knowledge you wouldn't know that ,now would you  Grin

RSR - Dave Baum (sp?) was one of the 2 WSCR hosts doing the interview with the Colonel and taking trainer Patrick's call this am. Not sure who the second person was.
