Renee is a $ rider. As I recall he rides the Turf at Arlington very well. Look at his turf earnings over the years he rode there. Yes, the bug boy at Churchhill is having a great year and has a future a head of him, but he is no Renee Douglas or Mark Guidry. Mark and Renee have had outstanding careers at Arlington. Jose Ferer is a journeyman jock that wont be around next year.

Are you kidding me Chitown. The young lad has a future a head of him, but you need to take a long look at the careers of Guidry and Douglas and see the stock that they have ridden over the years. Lets see how the Bug boy does when he loses his bug weight and then start comparing jock for jock. It sounds like your anti Guidry and Douglas. As I recall Douglas was having a pretty dam good Churchhill meet prior to his disagreement with Romans. I dont think he was getting any bug weight either Rookie.

If Guidry and Douglas are better than Leparoux why are they not leading the nation in wins? Guidry and Douglas are minor league next to Leparoux. Leparoux has 263 wins and Douglas & Guidry have less than 130 Combined. You need to learn how to evaluate talent.

Sawd off, I can't believe what your saying. Do you really believe it is only the bug weight advantage why he is pissing all over Douglas & guidry? Do you know how many wins they had when they were bugs? Did they ever lead the nation in wins? Your logic kills me! You better enjoy Leparoux because he is really something special. I have never in my 35 years of following this sport seen as good a bug as Leparoux. He is the best rider in the country right now. Numbers don't lie.

Thought Steve Cauthen maybe, but no, he won the title at RD and then was second at both CD and KEE. Lapardoux's numbers are sensational.

I thought about Cauthen also. Leparoux's numbers are unreal. I keep waiting for him to cool off and he keeps getting stronger.

Are you two a couple of cab drivers? The apprentice is having an exceptional year to date. All popular bug boys are always going to get more mounts due them getting less weight. Yes, he is the leading rider in the nation. I wouldnt go as far to say he is the best rider. John V, Edgar P, Rafeal B. are as solid as they come. Your stats are interesting, but did you look at the mounts comparison? Trainers always ride the hot apprentice. Yes, when you have more mounts your are probably going to lead in earnings too. I dont believe Guidry and Douglas were riding for the same purses back when they started as the bug is riding right now. The big test will be come next year at this time and we will see where he stands as far as mounts, wins and earnings. He is the leading rider in the nation, but is he the best?Huh Chitown didnt you coment on how you like Jose Ferer. Give me a break. He couldnt hold a candle to Eduardo Perez or Eddie Razo. If it wasnt for Mike Dini and David Hinsley he wouldnt even be here. Very likley he wont be here next year. Ferer is a very sub par Jockey.

Your ignorance to the race game preceeds you. If you can add, and I believe you can, add Douglas & Guidry mounts together at Churchill and you will see they total more than Leparoux. Guess what, they still have less wins and Douglas was 1st call rider for the leading trainer at the meet!  Make up some more excuses and try to convince yourself because you sure ain't doing it on this board.

Not a big fan of Ferrer, Razo or Perez, however their talent level seems comparable. If you call Ferrer sub par what does it make the other 2?

Numbers don't lie. Don't get upset and start calling everyone names. Leparoux has already done things (like winning 3 riding titles in a row at 3 different tracks) that all the guys you mentioned will never do. That is just a fact! Now quit talking out of your ass and provide me with some facts!

Hey stat man,one year does not make a glorified Jockey. Im not questioning the stats. Bug weight makes a huge differnce when deciding how much your horse is going to carry. Alot of trainers and owners factor that in. All Im saying is for the 3rd time lets see where he is next year at this time without the bug weight. The Kid has a ton of talent. Kudos to three riding titles as A bug. If he wins the saratoga meet then my hat is off to him. He has to prove to all of us he can compete without his bug next year. You know that as well as anyone and thats a FACT. Look at the past bug boys accross the Nation in the past years. He has a good future ahead of him. Good Luck!

steve Cauthan and Chris MCCarron come to mind as really good bug riders.

Lepardox is in their class.
