i can see your one of those angry people that likes to spread his contempt by cowardly typing behind a keyboard, while they hand out insults. and while i waste my time responding to you, please be assured this my last response to you, because i find people like you to be just to wierd to deal with, you cannot hurt my mood, i am used to those like you, each day i run into 100's of toxic people just like you.
i am not a little boy, prolly twice your age in fact, i am twice most peoples ages on line, because i am one of the few in my group who uses these devil machines daily while at work. so if oyu feel you must type down to someone in a condescendign way, go ahead because i'm laughing right back at how angry you are at nothing in particular.

Wow, you got me good blockhead. YOU GOT ME SCARED! Go back to school and get educated in samantic's. You write like a drunkin sailor!!

Ny racing is OK. The $13,000,000 NYRA blows in the budget is nothing and Pataki's right to keep it going. Good racing in NY.

NYRA was bumrapping Chicago racing, Arlington Park, and said no good horses run here. Me, and several others, disputed that on another thread. Not sure how we got here; probably from an admin.

Racing in New York is so compelling that they can bad rap ours? Our racing isn't great, but I wouldn't take a $70 round trip flight to see theirs.

Stevie Wonder perhaps you should consider hiring  someone different to read the  messages to you.
I'm wondering who the "several others" are. Your "reader" is lying to you  Smiley
The fact that you made an effort to point out Perfect Drift is kind of amusing though.

I think Perfect Drift has made well over $3 Million in purse money. I think that qualifies him as a good horse. He also hit the board in the 2002 Derby which was won by another CHICAGO horse by the name of War Emblem. Don't get too pissed because I caught you with your foot in your mouth.

Perfect Drift was a nice horse who got checks in big races. He was far from a superstar but he won the Washington Park and the Gold Cup over stellar fields  Wink What a banner day for Chicago racing.
War Emblem won the Derby AFTER moving into Baffert's barn  thus continuing a long line of national success for Chicago based horses  Grin

NYRA and others, what's up? Why bash our horses. I can remember Unbridled and Black Tie winning consecutive BCClassics, among many other races across the country. How about Bucks Boy, Western Playboy, Lady Shirl, One Dreamer, Meafara, Hansel just off the top of my head... I will agree nowadays our stock is WAY off from where we were a decade ago. Yet the fault lies in what Mr. D did to the breeders of the state by constantly holding over all of us that he would close at any time, chased many a good Mare away. Chased Hickey out, sure he got caught yet D tells him take a hike forever, how nice if Shakespeare or something similar were dropped here. Christine even left for a few years for Florida cause she was unsure of AP closing. I won't pretend to know any owners or trainers, however I would think that the stock would be much better had Mr. D not played hardball and lost. Why fight the Casino's only to want your hand in the pot years later. Who thinks like that, couldn't they see the potential windfall early on. They should have embraced it and found a way to jon them instead of fight it.......... I can't wait until horse racing sees the true light and builds a casino in Vegas to supprt purse money for tracks, CDSN is sitting on Hollywood waiting for a casino bill to help out, AP is spouting slots will bring back money and purses, Calder begs Jeb for more, CD is hoping for slots, why think small? Why not build one of your own, don't wait for a state ruling. A CDSN casino would help all tracks CD, AP, Calder, Fairgrounds and HP. Talk about big purses and big horses. NYRA would be hard pressed to fight them until  there Gov. would allow full board casinos at NY tracks then, then purses really boom, then the Sheiks would bring all their horses here and Tabor would come, our Kentucky breds would stay in America and not be found in a mid east desert or rolling hills of France. Then the TVG network expands from England to all of Eurpe and next to the Far EAst. The amount of money in handle would be GIGANTIC. Then Magna and Steve Wynn would join forces and BOOM, the game is on................................ stay tuned

Wrong choice of words for this year on my part, yet in the past we have been present on the national scene. However, don't tell me NYRA is king. Shug tries Cali, Shug goes home with nothing. Dehere tries Cali, Dehere goes home with nothing. Many a time has a NY horse failed miserably out west, yet I see west coasters ship into NY and blast you guys outta the water.......  The best stock NY has races at Keeneland and Churchill, before heading up and taking your purses at Toga, exception being Pletcher and Dutrow. Look how easy it was for GG to go in and take over the Colony. If he stays year round look for alot of $5.oo payouts between him and JV. Now that's fun. That's all I have to say, I don't pay attention to NY because it's not worth my time and effort, however AP is and offers tremendous value. The class of horse rarely comes into play nowadays in racing, I'd rather catch a $60 double with a 7-2 and 2-1, then worry about who wins what over inflated Graded race of the weekend. and trust me NY has just as many small field stakes as Cali has and it's not cause there's a monster in the race, it's cause the quality of race is diluted by the amount of oppurtunities available to trainers. good night and thanks for reading.

Arlington should be ashamed of what is being presented on a daily basis.

Last week my friend and I stopped at the Niles OTB. I think Thursday. The racing at every track sucked. Arlington, Belmont, Monmouth, whatever. Crappy, small, uncompetitive fields with many scratches. The best from a wagering standpoint was Suffolk! Moral is, don't call the kettle black. These days it all stinks.

Arlington is nothing more than the whole "lipstick on a pig " thing.
Today's 2nd race was a classic. Two even moneys and 2 horses that were "asked" to run to fill out the field.
The only one that tops that is the day Alnaz Ali had an uncoupled entry in a 6 horse field.

Hawthorne deserves credit, they don't try and pretend to be something they're not and they actually appear to care somewhat for the people who come out to play.
Hawthorne has the " we're happy you're here" approach while AP has the " you should be happy you're here" approach.

Slight shift that may go to quality of racing. What was with all of the scratches in the 3rd at Belmont Saturday? That many scratches has to be more than just a coincidence.  Of course, the mighty mighty Racing Form had no real explanation.

Too many tracks run throughout the summer, kills product everywhere and Mr. B hurt Il breeding here throughout the past 10 years with his tactics. Early nineties AP dominated cause , Texas didn't race or prarie or Canterbury or Indiana and now all we see are former trainers and owners in those states, especially Texas. Not only do purses hurt, purses would have to be higher because expenses are more here, gas, food, entertainment. Do not see it changing anytime soon, in fact it's not even at it's worst yet....... AP is the ugliest of sisters in the CDSN family. They just don't hire people that care for racing. It's a shame, I wish they'd hire people like myself, everyone I talk to there, except for a very few, is looking at AP as a stepping stone to something else. Why do hire like that? Just tired of all the talk of slots will save us, please........... It's brains for ideas that save the place, not slots........... why don't they take a race away from Wednesday and Thursday's card and add them to Friday and Saturday when handles the highest. Just look it up Friday's races starting at 5pm get huge compared to the others, why not add another, it doesn't get dark til 8pm. Dumbarses if you ask me. and I'm just a dumb fan, what are the accountants doing over there?
