The first three days anyhow. Pretty decent overall, but a few short fields. Looks very bettable.

Even some entries from one outfit I would have sworn I'd never see at Hawthorne again after last year and the plague situation.

That late pick 4 looks like a good betting opportunity

If it's the same one I spotted, I thought the same thing at first.

Then I realized that all 3 of their entries this weekend are ILL-BRED (as it were), and running some of our proud but deathly slow slugs elsewhere in open company might be just as bad as exposing them to some killer virus.

(Because, it's not about the MONEY; it's about the HORSES. Remember what we were told?)

Yeah, I saw that too.

Hopefully Hawthorne can continue to have fuller fields. From a betting standpoint, that was the only negative thing I could say about that track. I have been to many nicer tracks, but Hawthorne ranks among the tops IMO.
Just wish they had a harness meet like the old days.

New racing secretary (Allan Plever) will be balls out to make a good impression.

Let's see if he can scare up more horses with little or nothing more to work with than his predecessor. Tall order, IMO.

Good field size may be due in part to those Shipping North ( maybe 20 % + )

And as noted above ,  have won a couple already. They are commended.

May need to rename the place ?

 " Fairthorne "    " Hawmount "  " Collinscicero Downs "  " Starvation Hill Park "  ?

( Note: Fairmount North would be totally unacceptable - too much Cub / Cardinal animosity would carryover )

Send 'em up, I say. Most will not be competitive, but the ones that are will be a price.

Sharp shippers from Finger Lakes won their share at Saratoga this summer; for these horses and their connections, shipping to the Big Track is their own little Breeders Cup.

Capable shippers from lesser circuits make things interesting, and if you are using reliable handicapping information, profitable, too.

My guess based on those two posts would be Equiforce, but I could be wrong.

Brivolta,

How many horses do you own right now?  Saw that you had a winner last week trained by Thomas Trione Jr.  Is he a new trainer for you?  Do you still have other horses with S. Manley?

Thanks,
Sod

Brivolta has thrown out quite a few live ones the past month and a half or so. I would like to know what the deal is w/ the trainer switches from Manley to Trione, and vice versa. Note that Misty Miranda (entered tomorrow 10/9)  has had the same swap.

We have four right now. Hoping to have a few in this weekend.

As far as trainers go, they are all with Manley. There was a mix up in some paperwork but it's all taken care of now.
