A 2 year old son of Curlin, Ride On Curlin, "broke the Ellis Park record for 5½ furlongs Saturday, winning a $29,500 maiden race by 7¾ lengths under Calvin Borel."
"Borel did peek back at the sixteenth pole to see how far in front he was. The three-time Kentucky Derby winner gave Ride On Curlin high praise, saying, “He reminds me of Street Sense. He’s got that kind of talent.”
Ride On Curlin is owned by Dan Dougherty of Louisville, who has been receiving big offers for the colt. Gowan said he told would-be buyers after the first race — a rallying second at Churchill Downs — that the price was “no less than $1 million,” and after Saturday’s victory, “it just went up.”http://news.feedzilla.com/en_us/stories/sports/horse-racing/319180019?client_source=feed&format=rss&sb=1
