I give up drinking every Lent, about 10 years ago I started doing the Atkins diet while I gave up drinking.
I did this for about 6 years straight and lost around 15 lbs every Lent.
Easy as pie.
The problem I had was the lack of Carbs in my system caused my serotonin levels to drop.
Serotonin is basically needed in the body to keep you happy and on an even keel.
Well, any way I started getting panic attacks and was very anxious.
Kinda freaked me out because I've always been pretty healthy.
I went to the doctor and he prescribed medication which straightened me out after a while.
My body eventually reacted negatively to not having Carbs, so I quit doing Atkins, (still give up drinking for the lent tho
What happened to me may not happen to you.
The bottom line is, talk to your doctor before starting this diet or any diet for that matter.
