Normally I and a companion get into AP for free based on my Twin Spires status so I don't pay attention to this forum's threads on AP's "exorbitant" $12 admission. Today, I had four invitees accompany me and I needed to purchase admission for three of them as I agree with the forum's prevailing school of opinion that $12 admission is high and I didn't want to subject my guests to that. Much to my delight the admission was $4 per, so I now question what is true vs all of the recent rants, is it $4 on Wednesdays only, has it changed, or was it disinformation spread by a few haters? $12 on special occasions is not the same as $4 on the other days.

Again, maybe this $4 is for Wednesday's only, who can share actual experience rather than negative supposition? As an aside, the Terrace Cafe (outdoors and at the west end of the track) was free seating at the tables and bar - normally $5.00 or $7.50 per seat. This is the case on Wednesday's (and Thursdays when they switch over). It's a great location.

Interesting. The 3 guests that I paid for at the admission booth were clearly not Seniors or Military. I guess if one is interested in visiting AP - Wednesday/Thursday is the day to do it. Also, because AP is pretty poor on communicating, very few Wednesday attendees don't realize they can sit anywhere at the Terrace Cafe - outdoor tables with umbrellas or the bar for free.

The terrace cafe.  Another part of the track people would sit and handicap for free.  Not anymore.

Yes- we all know

Just got to let it go..most regulars disagree with the changes but nothing we can do about it.

You want to complain, look at the preferred club or whatever they called it.....Used to be free pref. parking, free progrum, free admission, couplE of passes, & a voucher!!!!!!
NOW NONE OF THAT

we know how AP values their patrons & sure it will get worse once the slots come...

Days like today are amazing...Best day of the year

Since no one has mentioned Wednesday admission prices before now, looks like you're the only candidate for misinformation spreading, hater.

Why does AP charge active duty military?  Wasn't RLD a war hero himself?  What a crock.

The idea of charging more for "premium" days of the same product, as in most all sports these days, is filthy business. But there is something we can do about it. Don't go! Don't be a regular! I don't care how "beautiful" the facility is, how much fun is it to go there knowing you've been screw'd at the turnstile? Why be forced to suspend your personal reality to rationalize it all?

I have a pass so does not directly effect me...

Whats the old saying ..dont cut off your wallet to spite your face....

Yeah- I suppose could boycott or not go- im sure some people do that.

I am sure many Bears fans gave up their season tickets that had been in family for years when us season ticket holders were forced to pay ridiculous PSL's to build the  "new" soldier field......you wanna talk dumps

Fan gets screwed 99% of the time..

Actually, I think $4 vs. the normal every day $8 might be something of an improvement. A few years back I recall the senior discount being a mere $2.

Wed was a beautiful day weather wise, yet Arl was empty , no seniors no nobody, I remember on  Weds the seniors would come by the buses. Wed should be $2.00 adm ,$2.00 program and $2.00 valet parking so the seniors don't have to walk . Weds cant get any worse than they already are.

It seems like Senior Day has never been the same since that one year they goofed around and changed days.
