In the mid 90s I walked into an OTB in Pearl River, NY towards the end of the card.
I was racing 2 horses at Vernon Downs.
Anyway, my trainer told me he he would give me a horse or two and I could pay some bills.
Tells a gal driver would run second at big odds, she won't get passed.
He was right, she was about 35/1.
Winner paid about $12. Third horse was about 5/1.
I had a fistful of tickets. I had $37 on the tri that paid about $100. There was almost  riot.
Had the exacta for $60 or $70 and that paid $45 or so.
Had maybe $50 win on the horse.
I remember taking about $3500 of the race. I was there for about 10 minutes.
I also remember 2 guys followed me to the parking lot.
I had a buddy waiting in the car for me and he got out when he saw this.
I suppose it gave the impression of something wrong, as I walked in an out, and it was, in fact, wrong..
I don't know about the above story, but I've seen and done it before, so it's not impossble.
But this thread has entertained the crap out of me, so I hope it continues.

I think it would be a better thread if there had been a guaranteed Pick 5 somehow involved, so I hope swoo does better next time.

Wouldn't waste my time talking about the Smolin's, really nothing to talk about. *** can't win a two horse race, Phillips now not using him much.

This happened years ago and was masterminded by a guy who drove regularly at Fairmount.

I can't believe you folks give this broken down horse player this much credit. Life is Good Today's 2013 line reads 14-0-1-3 $4,700. The real conspiracy is that the general public is so bad, they bet him down to 2.4:1.
