They probably don't have GooGoo staked to anything again this year, just like last year.  Cheesy

If Googoo Gaagaa gets healthy again he has a chance to be the best trotter around.  If not, nobody touches Intimidate.  Mister Herbie and Market Share best of rest.  San Pail, Sevruga, Little Brown Fox have no chance to win the biggest races.

Couldn't be further from another Burke horse.  Like Googoo gaagaa another great underdog story.  He was bred by a little old lady in Quebec by Justice Hall.  Her trainer/partner took half of him because nobody else would buy him he's a little tiny gelding.  Supplemented into the Breeders Crown for about half of his lifetime earnings and he went and stomped the **** out of Market Share, Little Brown Fox, and everybody else.  Twice.

Purest trotter since Muscle Hill.

Thanks but he's not mine though.  Wish he were lol.  Just though it would be a good name to register with when I saw this thread since he's going to be the next king of trotting.

Sevruga ---How do you like that purchase from Team Miller....
150,000 from Raymer / Mettinis after 3 yr old season.......

I thought he was a steal at the time when he went through the ring.   Guess it's pretty hard to say you stole a horse for 150 grand, but that one was about as close as it gets.  After he hit the board in the Nat Ray, a couple people that laughed at me after saying I thought he was a steal didn't think it was quite so funny anymore.

More importantly, Guccio has come out and solidified himself as a probable top 5 trotter for the next two or three years.  He won't be as good as Intimidate and probably not quite as good as Market Share, but he might be as good or even a little better than Mister Herbie.

The wild card at this point is Googoo Gaagaa.  They were trying to go in :57 the other day but he went slow fractions and only kicked home to go in :58.  He hasn't really been the same since last spring/early summer so we'll find out if the first qualifier was a sign of weakness or not.  If he gets back to 100% this will be the deepest and toughest group of older trotters possibly in the history of racing.  Would have been nice if they raced Chapter Seven again this year but he might not even be in the top 3 if they did keep going with him.

Going to be a very fun racing season to watch for this division.  Especially with Mister Herbie going to Sweden and the addition of the new $500,000 race at the Meadowlands.

My predictions for the pecking order:

1. Intimidate
2. Market Share
3. Googoo Gaagaa
4. Guccio
5. Mister Herbie
6. Little Brown Fox
7. San Pail
8. Wishing Stone
9. Sevruga

Will update the list after Googoo Gaagaa's next qualifier.  Within a couple of weeks he might be number one on the list, somewhere between numbers three and six, or not even on the list anymore if he didn't come back well.
