I've heard about the poly affecting handicapping, but not exactly HOW it will.  Does anyone know?  Or have ideas?

Dogsup....AP wont be sold to any developer. That was the main reason why it was sold to CDI in the first place. To make sure it would stay a racetrack. The poor handle is the result of poor fields do to the huge number of scratches from races and the shortage of horses here. After this weekend we will see what happens once CD closes. I know Guidry is coming up again and so is Robby A. Lets hope some horses follow them here too.

Jim, you're right on the money with this comment.  If you look at the individual races, the races with large fields have strong handle and the races with small fields have low handle.  Unfortunately, so far this meet, there have been many races with small fields.

Arlington's TV coverage just plain stinks. They don't offer anything up that I can't read in the DRF.  The best "talking heads" in the business (Kurt Hoover, Jan Rushton, Brad Thomas) all give me something that I might not have known before.    The horsemen are the ones that should be *** to ARlington.  Arlington makes money hand over fist with their concessions with Levy and handle is down.

im still hoping that Magna buys arlington from churchill,
then they can give the preakness a home in a beautifull
facility. and at the same time maybe bring some dirt racing to the city, and relieve us all of the burden if this international turf farce, that takes the entire pot of prize funds and gives it to one or two people.
