the foggoten prep race for 800,000

this sunland derby is a super race,
some colt is going to run out of this and right into the derby at a much lower altitude off plenty of time rested.

8 of the 9 of these colts could win the derby with thier outstanding pedigre

tapit AGSuaturdays, kittens joy el prado, mignight lute st baladado, distorted humor,
storm cat, vindication, street cry, its a book of recent graded winners.

nice race  [ss]800, 000 to the wiener , gate points, and a long rest period..very nice..

I like Shakin It Up. These Midnight Lute horses IMO could go all day as ML could turn out to be a very good sire and that remains to be seen. Abraham could win as well as Pletcher is looking for another Derby prospect in here. Then SIU's stablemate Governor Charlie too could win as he did beat Footbridge who broke his maiden last week. Maybe for a price horse possibly Saint Prado could pull of a bit of an upset. I think you can make a case for 4 of these but of out of the 4 I will go with Shakin It Up.

I'll have a wager on Saint Prado.

There's a lot of talk on Twitter about the track condition and records being broken:

@rkasoff ‏@RKasoff3h
@SimonTVG great observation on Sunland track conditions. If it's stakes day, or Saturday, the crews always scrape the track. Ignore figs.

Kentucky Derby‏@KentuckyDerby2h
Govenor Charlie destroys track record with 1 1/8 miles in 1:47.5 in Sunland Derby. Old mark: Winsham Lad's 1:48.20. Earns 50 #KYDerby pts.

Midnight Lucky broke the Sunland Oaks record:

Mark Hennig‏@Hennigracing2h
3 track records at Sunland, the Mdn Special in the first was 2/5 off the track record going 6f. Did they pave that place last night?

Jay Privman‏@DRFPrivman1h
Sunland all-sources handle a track record $3,820,986. Big day here. Smiles all around. #sunland

Wonder if anyone has researched Baffert's training stats on track biases of 08 or less (which Sunland was today).

He "bullet-trains" them knowing most tracks on stake days are fast as concrete.  And won the two big races today using just that technique.
