I'm not talking about Ron the DH or even Julius the legal-forms publisher; I'm talking about Michael, the worst NYC mayor of my lifetime, and that's saying a lot.

Personally, I find it a waste of time... I can watch races on my 'puter while multitasking, and, being a spot player, I'm not stuck at the physical plant twiddling my thumbs waiting for some late race.  It was different when I was a student, I had fewer responsibilities, but time is at a premium now.

Also, I grew up within walking distance of Yonkers Raceway, so I was used to having a decent track nearby.  Now the closest decent thing is the Meads, but who the hell wants to sit in traffic on the Cross Bronx or the Harlem River Drive for a half-hour just to see the latest series for non-winners of a ham sandwich or horses classified D-4 or worse?

I'm with you, I watch on the computer and if I take an hour to help my daughter with her math homework, I can watch replays when I return.
I grew up in Brooklyn but spent my summers in Monticello, and the raceway was "The Action Attraction" and during the winter it was almost every Islander game followed by the last 3 or 4 races at Roosevelt.

Monticello actually had a promotion a while back involving a much older (and bald) Ron Blomberg appearing at the track.

Somehow I managed to miss it.

My son of course has x-box and a whole coterie of friends around

Kids might enjoy  a harness simulation game....start small...selling at the harness hall of fame.....

The sulky has permission to use the USTA name to create a Video game for all gaming systems as well as the PC.... The problem is...nobody wants to invest in a harness racing video game.   laughing guy laughing guy laughing guy    When PS3 has a harness racing video game in their library then we are making progress. Until then........the cleanup and war on animal cruelty must continue ! ( juicing and excessive whipping) !
