U.S. Congress in race with states to pass online gambling law
11 Mar 2013

Reuters reports that legislation in the House is likely to be introduced this spring, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada), whose long-advocated federal legislation never got introduced last year, is working behind the scenes to form a coalition to support the measure.

According to Reuters, Congressional efforts have picked up as more states move forward with their own bills. New Jersey is the most populous state to approve online gaming, following Delaware and Nevada, and many others are considering it: An Illinois senate committee filed a bill last week that could authorize online gambling there.

Several states are also trying to figure out how to band together to attract more gamblers, Reuters reports.

Wouldn't this or shouldn't this be under federal jurisdiction Huh  Interstate commerce Huh
Plus look at all the potential tax revenue...Both state and feds can impose taxes on each wager or on the accounts..Looks like a money maker for all sides.

More money for the children, of course ... the ones we don't care enough about to pay taxes to educate, I mean.

I just want to start playing again. I enjoyed Pokerstars and it was
a nice second income for me.  They are in prime position since they
are purchasing a casino in AC.  All the hardware will be inplace in
NJ and that is one of the stipulations in the online bill.  They are looking for late summer fall launch.
