The pee thing is old... we may have moved into new areas.  Sneezes, defecation, nosebleeds, exsanguinations, self-disembowelments, exploding drummers... the possibilities are limitless.

Its not clear whether that suspension is for another class II drug or for something else. We wiil just have to wait I guess.

In Canada we have full faith in the testing facilities in place.

I see the Junk brigade are down on their hands and knees lapping it up.

If you guys have no faith in the testing labs in US send the Burke samples
to Canada. If there is something in those samples we'll let you know.

Till then please STFU.

Any documentation (as opposed to mindless rumors) as to the reason for the suspension.

I do remember about two or three years ago, there were rumors spreading that the Meadowlands had some new testing capabilities and immediately after that, Coleman's ability to win at the swamp disappeared at the swamp while her success at other tracks kept up at her usual pace.

Not only you are clueless in whats happening in the harness racing world but you are very thick headed.

Vrablic had that class II drug positive in 2008.

It was posted across the street

"Coleman received positive tests for the Class IV drug Flumethasone—a corticosteroid for topical use—on horses Mick Dynamite, Hilarious Halo and Run On Luck."

That would mean 3 horses received it but as someone else indicated Goodbadanddeugly also raced on Feb 22 same night as Run On Luck so there could be as many as 4

Here is an excerpt from a 2010 report of US drugs in racing.

Doping vs. Overage:

Considering that Class I and Class II violations can best be described as “doping"  and others characterized as therapeutic overages of legal substances the following chart should put the results of the drug testing program in proper context. Again, it is important to note that the doping rate is 0.015% of all samples tested, an extremely rare occurrence.

Ninety-four percent of the horses found to be in violation of the medication rules in 2010 were cited for a substance with less capacity to affect performance than those that would qualify as doping agents. Of those, 72% are for violations of Class IV substances with even less potential to affect performance, if at all.

They're undetectable, but we have an estimate of their prevalence.

Why must you call everyone names when you are proven wrong time after time Ray?

Quite the contrary. I am sure you will go home tonight with a little bit of extra knowledge about drugs in horse racing than when you came in here with.

If you talk foolishly, I will call you a fool. Like it or lump it.

Class 1V drugs Yep thats hard drugs. Yes lets kick everyone who uses a therapeutic drug on their horses out of the game forever. screwy

More cheaters then actual specimens to be tested?

Why not? Who's to say it's not true? There could be 20 undetectable drugs in every horse. Who's to say it's not true? THEY'RE UNDETECTABLE!

Mostly from the internet and some private sources which I am not at liberty to discuss.

So you get info from private sources that tell you how clean the sport is and how good the testing is?   i can understand the private sources but if they are telling you this info why would it need to be kept private if its all positive?

Coleman Hearing Next Monday

Trot Insider has learned that trainer Casie Coleman will have a hearing with Ontario Racing Commission judges next Monday after three of her horses tested positive for Flumethasone.

Wintering with her stable in Florida, Coleman was informed on Monday night by conference call with ORC judges that Hilarious Halo, Mc Dynamite and Run On Luck received post-race positive tests from races conducted between February 16 and 22 at Woodbine Racetrack.

Coleman told Trot Insider that she cannot fathom how the horses tested positive given the veterinary records, and has released that info to the ORC.

Flumethasone is a corticosteroid, and is commonly sold and used as Flucort in topical or liquid form.

Damn, she has been silent on facebook today, not talking about ordering Peter Lugar steaks, vacationing in Antiqua or going to polo match. Or posting pictures of her expensive car. What gives?

Not sure why this is being reported as some "topical rub."  In humans, its a topical.  In horses, it's an injectable systemic anti-inflammatory.  Additionally, as a glucocorticoid, it functions as a coactivator for STAT5-dependent transcription for growth hormone stimulation.  The real question is, "are any of them 'with it' enough to realize what they've stumbled onto.  My guess is, prolly not... otherwise it wouldn't be being reported as a Class IV topical.
