That would be a surprise. I think Mr. Thayer has been there around 40 years.

I saw him around the paddock area last summer almost fall more than one time.  Don't know his age but I am guessing he is around 85.  Somebody give him a fishing pole or something.

I heard a lot of dirt surrounding this firing. Younger girl, mishandling of money, divorce, Thayer suing CDI. All hearsay but it's very interesting.

Mr. Thayer is and was Arlington. A class act in the kitchen and up front.If indeed he was terminated- shame on Arlington. Just another reason to not support the local oval in my opinion. head shake

You must not support 99% of all corporations in this country because not to many of them will keep employees on when they are in their 80's and having trouble standing up.  If he was fired and I dought he was, he would have been forced out by Churchill not Arlington.  Arlington answers to Churchill. These boards are filled with silly rumors.

He is a great guy, but I'm surprised CDI allowed him to stay as long as they did. I can't see him deliberately mishandling anything, however--And if he got a younger woman---I wish he'd tell me his secret.(lol)

Thayer's health was declining. Some days he wouldn't eat lunch during racing season. They also let go Gil Carmichael, Head of OTB operations.
