Mark Harder has been searching for a start for Golden Receiver and it looks like he found one in Saturday’s 30K FFA/A-1 HDC pace at M1. The Village Jove gelding will have been off four weeks since his win in the Presidential. He’s got four 2013 starts in him.

GR is not handicapped with the outside post; he starts from the five for TT. Abelard Hanover, who won the last two A-2/A-1/FFA HCP races, is outside of GR in the six and Rockin The House, who beat an A-1 field three weeks ago, is on the outside.

2 Transcending……………….YG
3 Europan Union……………..Carlson
4 River Shark……………………D Miller
5 Golden Receiver…………….TT
6 Abelard Hanover……………Callahan
7 Rockin The House………….YG

In other words, the FFA didn't fill, and the A-1 didn't fill, so they scrunched them together, leaving a race with a likely 1-5 winner.

Should of crunched a1 a2 and dropped the ffa horse.

I hate to say but gural needs to pull a few more dollars out and draw the better horses to nj.   Or cater to the cheaper classes.

I agree this race will stink and be in the p4.

Race 2.

They don't want a 1-5 in the pick 4 or a 7 horse field.

You're right. Should have been 11th - 13th. They used to save the best for last.

Or, bar GR from the wagering...that way, its a wide open betting race.

Problem solved.

Is someone gonna leave with him or try to seriously push him first-over?  If he gets to the half in 55.3 on a fast track, he comes home in about :54.  Who's gonna close into that?

There's an ice cold exacta in the race.  I'll keep it to myself so that I can claim I had it regardless of who comes in second. beer

Highest-class race on the card; smallest betting pool.  Does anyone else see a problem there?  No?  I'm not surprised.  Carry on.
