Would agree but, Elmo and his connections seem to have friends in all of the right places.

I dont think his owner will keep Elmo around here much longer...i think he'll prob try bigger purses elsewhere...he sure is head and shoulders the best versus his chicago area competition....by the way, so is tomlinsons mare that wins every week...what a nice race mare...wins as she pleases...

Send Elmo back to Woodbine. He will fit well with Sparky Marks and Casimir Jitterbug in the Preferred with a purse of $34000.
As it is there is a shortage of horses here.

When/if Als Hammered pops back into the box, there'll be competition for him.

so they cant beat him in chicago so some think he should be shut out of the box?? i understand everyone needs a piece of the pie, but i dont agree with not letting him race week after week. why not assign him the outside post instead of not letting him enter?

Because he's a frontrunner who'll generally be able to pick his middle half?

IRA , I think most horses aren't 100 percent and the connection is doing quite well with this very talented horse . However when the 17k purse is given out in a state that cries broke . I think two 8500 purses with better competition would offer more of a return to the purse account . Lets face it Illinois has a lack of very talented horses and Elmo is just too good for Illinois at the moment . Why not offer a claiming series with lets say a 20k Final on a Saturday evenings .

He'll have to learn how to leave a little (assuming Elmo is still around). Al's is great, but still too one-dimensional, which makes him a RISKY play unless he's in tip-top shape, facing an outmatched field (entirely possible, still), or picking up the pieces of a speed collapse. An amazing amount of tote money followed him down his form cycle. Some of it was mine, but not all.
