http://www.drf.com/news/brad-free-miller-rode-first-timer-all-way-bank Hearsay is one thing, but curious to know what's the biggest bet you've seen a trainer(s) put down on a horse? Any owners out there who really fired on one of their own (win or lose)? Would also like to know what opinions people have of trainers betting...

I have no trouble with trainers wagering in their horses.  As a matter of fact, speaking as an owner a trainer that puts their own money at risk is a good thing in my mind.

My dad once bet $500 across on a 28-1 shot who won easily, going away by about 4.  It was a little stakes race, so that was a pretty nice payday. (He had claimed the horse for $10k earlier that year.)

His child's education... Miller must have absolutely hammered him. That is cool.
