OK, LA, AR, KY all seem to have their bans in place for the forseeable future.  What about Indiana Downs?  And Ellis Park, Keeneland and CD down the road??

Really wondering about bringing a horse not previously in the quarantine into the scope of those bans...

I have seen entries for HAW horses at Beulah, Penn, and Parx but not anywhere else I believe.

Its my understanding that LA and AR you can now bring horses in with requested information (negative test, think a rectal temp, and something else). I don't know about race.

According to the Racing Sec. At Tampa, there will be NO Haw. Horses this year.  That was a conversation we had 3 weeks ago while I was there.

Hasn't deviated any from the public statements they made in December.

Tampa is the biggest pain in the ass to deal with on almost all fronts.

From a horseman standpoint? Never shipped there, so don't know.

From a bettors standpoint, though, it's one of the few that acts like it cares about integrity and the interests of bettors, and IMHO that's one reason why you see such good handle on their races, even though the quality of horse isn't so great.

The problem is that the state vets in many of the key states have zero confidence that Illinois and Hawthorne have handled the outbreak competently (for good reason).  They will open the doors when they start to feel comfortable, but that may take awhile.

Not to mention low confidence in the type of horsemen who would somehow manage to track it out of a non-racing quarantine barn and out to the other barns. Says they just don't take things seriously.

Will Rogers Downs (OK) is prohibiting any horse from Hawthorne for the entire year.

They should prohibit any horse period.

It seems like an okay little track from the patron standpoint, and the horsemen seem to enjoy slurping up the free slots welfare loot even if hardly anyone bets on the actual product they're offering, so what's the harm?

WRD ranks  high in field size and around 13th in " percentage of races won by a longshot".  Prices and field size...hmmmmm...

i dont know what your obsession is with WRD dano, but its 12 hours away and thats without a trailer and the track surface has been known to not be the safest. potholes galore in the past and sometimes all the jocks down the lane are so far off the rail you could drive a mack truck up it

Not hardly obsessed.  Made several good claims there and a condition horse has a decent shot shipping in.  I like OK racing, but realize it is not for many others.

Not 12 hours away from St. Louis! Smiley

I remember guys used to regularly ship FP horses over to The Woodlands in KC, too.
