Is anyone familiar with the arena in Newark, New Jersey ? I know Newark is the arm pit of New Jersey, but I am trying to see if its safe to take my 12 year old daughter and her friends to a concert there. Is parking available ?

Club, I took my daughter to a Devils game and on another night a Seton Hall Game.
Parking is very close to the arena, and many cops all over the place. I would compare the area to the area around Yankee Stadium and say the same thing, there is no safer place to be as long as its on game night because the Police activity is large. Brooklyn Barclay Center is same thing...nasty area...but VERY safe on game nights.

Thanks alot. I figured on game/event nights a strong police force would be out.

I'm aware of that. I was just being funny about who will be attending this show.

Years ago, I would drive through the cesspools of Brooklyn to avoid traffic until I heard too many stories about holes in the road covered so you get stuck or tires thrown in the street and drivers getting mugged when they get out of their cars to move them and also too many people get shot in the crossfire. I learned to be patient and sit in the traffic. Newark is the same.
