Jockeys get beat by better horses.  Not him.  He has had bad rides.  Going back to hastings while his stock was up was huge mistake.

What he did today on Basmati was criminal. His ride on Handsome Mike yesterday wasnt any better. He's ok in cheap races, but the big time, not polished enough. He seems to have forgotten his fantastic rides on I'll Have Another, that jock has been MIA recently.

I see your points. I thought today he moved too soon in a couple races.

I like Mario and all but it's tough here.

What are you talking about???  The guy rode 39 mounts at Hastings all year in 2012 - just two before August 29.

His stock went south well before that.

Gutierrez won 3 races between the Preakness and the start of July.   (an $8000 claimer and two maiden races)

He at least went back to area and frustrated so cal trainers except team ill have another.   The great journalists at tvg talked about it for ten minutes three weeks ago.  They would never give out wrong information.

Um, yeah, OK, his two mounts at Hastings were on a Monday holiday not shared with the U.S.

Nice try though!

Get the mounts off your mind.  He went back to hastings area.  He left so cal after tc.  Just because he didnt have mounts didnt mean he wasnt there.

You don't seem to know what you're writing about.

Mario G.    "after TC", rode at HOL on

June  14,15,16,17,21,22,23,24,28,29,30

July     1

During that time, he went  1-for-34, and that sealed his fate.

or, let me guess, by  "after TC"  you mean...  like,  Veteran's Day, or Christmas Huh

He also went  back to New York...  and I suppose you fault him for that too.

It is OK that you recognize that he's not the greatest rider around, but don't make-up stupid sh*t if you can't support that widely-held observation with common sense.  (or even factual reality!)

Tequiila Challenge.  I never said I looked for "facts".  I said tvg discussed this topic three weeks ago. And a quick bing search is showing other forums with the same discussion.  If they got it wrong then sue them at century city.  You're the only one concerned.

How is this  "right on"  :

"""Going back to hastings while his stock was up was huge mistake."""

and   """ He left so cal after tc."""

His stock had already waned by the time he went back to Hastings for any significant time, and he knew it.

Another brutal ride on bio pro.  Rail is out 30 feet which favors speed.  Ran first quarter in 22 for a 1 1/8 race.  Got caught at the end.  This was maybe 7th time this meet hes rode this way and got nipped.

Thought that one would be lone speed. Almost held on.

Maybe Mario isn't that good with horses that are front running then.

I don't know about lately, but can can honestly say I've never seen him as a rider that has a good clock in his head.  Seems he at times would be sitting back in slow fractions.......then getting cooked 3 or 4 wide in fast ones on the front end.

Handsome Dennis' last 2 lines were terrible, he was coming in off a layoff, and ran in a race today that was intended for the turf but taken off due to the rain.

What was Mario supposed to do, carry this pig across the wire? Do you ever look at these "bad jockey rides" in context?

Or, do you just do what all the other bustouts do, namely, blame the jock for your poor handicapping? Tell me you didn't get sucked into betting this POS!
