Where is this money coming from?

Gural mentioned in an interview posted here a few weeks ago there were '$300,000 bettors' in action. What are they betting on? And, how can they maintain it with all the price shots?

Rebates can only get you so far.

Just curious.

Can someone explain?

"rebates" or "discount" at the cartel type level get your more than far.

If they are paying 2%, that means their discount is anywhere from 13-23% (depending on the pool). A reasonable handicapper could identify the 3 or 4 contenders in every race and throw darts at them to select exact order and come out WAY ahead. WAY!
