Translation into proper Queen's English:

NYS R&B only cares about racing dates when it concerns Racino slot revenue. Nothing else. This has NOTHING to do with "equine safety initiatives". Has to do with the fact that NYS R&B deemed that Aqueduct slots revenue will be the same whether The Big A runs live on Wednesday's or not.

Amen brother!!!  When a horse breaks down it's tragic.  Unfortunately horses cannot recover from their injuries the way most other athletes can.  The onus for running a lame horse is on the trainer and the state vet for allowing it to run.  Not the track for having live racing in the first place.

The weather has been pretty good this year and last.  We had a cold snap but it is winter, no major snowstorms yet.

That is a drastic drop in field size yet the racing fatalities continue plus those fatalities that aren't counted that occur in the morning training. If one witnessed a morning
fatality you couldn't report it to the DRF but with a new board you can report it
to NYRA board
