Just mention an old horse, trainer... whatever, and ask if others remember. They can reply and provide tidbits, etc.

Do you remember a hard hitting, feet rattling filly named Bayou Bidder? She was trained by Spanky, and she absolutely loved AP.

Cool Cookie (Sp?)-I was very very young but I'm pretty sure the horse was a turfer at AP. Obviously as a kid; I loved a horse with a name like that.

Sheckey Greene - he could fly.  He probably had no business in the Derby, but he set a nice pace for Secretariat to run at.

Ioya Two is who hooked me on racing. Chris Block IL bred mare out of Lord at War.

People now probably know her as a broodmare cause she has thrown runner after runner (In the Il bred ranks at least)

Won an 8.5f allowance race on the grass on the Inaugural Arlington Million card. Followed that with a win in the 10f Arlington Handicap on the grass a month later.

And yes, he was trained by W.E. Adams and owned by Golden Chance Farm. Julio Espinoza up.

One of the very early Block runners. Wasn't Jerry LaSala her regular rider for quite some time?
