Not sure what is going on.  Have a 4 yr old pacer training on a half mile track, non- winner of two.  In a jog cart can a 59 mile with no problem.  On race night will go one trip and looks like a million dollars warming up.  BUT once he gets to the gait he gets "lost".   Will run, get back on stride, run again, his legs are going all over the place.  Would never know it was the same horse you had warmed up earlier or trained in the week. Had two vets exam him and neither had any major issue. Also had him scanned.

Your thoughts?

same horse as my other question.  Doc said no to EPM.  We can't figure this guy out and we have been around for 3 generations in this business. Warms up like a 50 pacer then looks horrible when the gate opens!

sounds like if he has no physical problems  you need to adjust his attitude....keep this our secret..take a hood with the inserts in the ears and get you 2 jingle bells(the little bells the girls tie to thier shoes..take some fishing line and needle and run a piece of fishing line up through the insets and through the hood and tie off  now you have a piece of fishing line hanging down in the insert about 2 or 3 inches   tie the bells to each line hanging down in each ear.....put the hood on a go...the bells will hang down in his ears and bring him back to reality..used this trick on many bad actorsm and sulky horses...cheap and easy to try...if that dont work i got more
