Coming to the top of the stretch, Convocation clipped heels with Sovereign Default, prompting Convocation to fall forward and hurling Dominguez hard to the inner dirt course.

By no means am I minimizing the horses here but injuries are a part of EVERY sport.  In horse racing those injuries, which all other athletes can recover from, result in the need for the athlete to be put down.  It's sad.
