People are saying he is in trouble for gambling and race fixing. Others say he is on vacation. Yet, some more say he is sick. Anybody know where he really is? I've never heard so many stories on one guy. Anybody know the truth? Just wondering why he hasn't been driving.

I believe he is in Vegas with his dad and the 70K pick 4 winnings tipping the cocktail waitresses $20 every time they bring him something. Heard it from Nancey but then them guys are the biggest liars  |

Who really cares where Smolin is when Illinois now has Clyde ( SAVED BY THE BELL) Slater and Phil ( Fort ) Knox who look like up and coming Illinois drivers . Marcus Miller may left the building and Casey ( Oh Casey ) Leonard is driving like he is Illinois hall of fame material . Ira Smolin and his son have been about the only real drama Illinois racing has since the Racino idea has cooled off Again . I for one find the racing in the past week since Smolin is gone MIA to be better quality .

Where is Swoody when you need him. Either creeping around one of the local tracks or OTBs, peering over the shoulders of bettors at the windows and machines, spying on what they're betting, or sitting at an OTB bar stool listening to 4th hand conspiracy theories of "the true story up to now!"
