Boring when your team's not in !!! Damn straight. When your team is out, the only people who care are degenerate gamblers and drunks looking for an excuse to get so drunk that they don't remember the game anyway. The Super Bowl is the single most gambled-upon sporting event in the world. Nothing is close -- hence the enormous popularity.

Think that applies to the NFL on a weekly basis. But for gambling, wonder how popular the game would be ??

How many millions watch "Reality TV" shows? The NFL is the ultimate reality tv show. I stopped betting football 20 years ago & do not drink. I never miss a game. BTW, Ravens will win the SB.

I don't think it will be a close game. MOST of SF's games have not been close. I'm going with 30-17, Baltimore. If it is a close game, Baltimore certainly has the more consistent kicker. That 5 point line will go down, closer to 3 before all is said & done.

Just my personal opinion:
Lewis hung with the wrong crowd & he was in the wrong place. He got very nervous & made the decision that he was going to protect some people that maybe he shouldn't have.
But he was never even on trial so there was not enough evidence to do anything serious to him except ruin his name, reputation & career. So he agreed to give them some info & plea to a minor offense that won't destroy him.
And then the guy turns to a Higher Power & rehabilitates himself, becomes a very charitable person with his time & money. And so that's why I root for him, as do many others. He's not an OJ, he's not a Kobe.

Yes Dolfan your right on, Rays a changed man. No more clubbing/partying etc., a real family man who loves and supports his children. He does more charity work around Baltimore than you can imagine. I don't necessarily need to hear all his talk about Gods plans, i kind of like to think that God doesn't care about football when children die of horrible cancers everyday but hey at least he's not hurting people. On another note Flacco was outstanding the second half and the defense t Brady to short passes, took away all long balls. Against Denver the rookie Pierce didn't have but 3 plays because of a knee injury and was hurting yesterday too but that guy is gonna be some kind of special if he stays healthy. He's been the leading rusher for the last 4 or 5 games, since Caldwell took over...

Welker's drop in the 3rd 1/4 was HUGE, I thought. It was NE's chance to grab a cushy lead. Blown opportunity at the end of the 1st 1/2 hurt but not a killer. Welker's drop though - big! I didn't see any Ravens dropping passes. Pitta gets pounded, gets up & then catches a TD pass. Boldin is such a prime time player. Injury to Talib was key too.

Defense huge in red zone yesterday and the timely first downs were killer, something the Ravens have struggled with. Should be a great game, both well balanced and peaking at the right time. Ravens defense was porous this earlier this year, thought Brady would attack Shockey Brown more yesterday. But they really limited the long stuff and gave him the underneath. Ravens are healthy and they finally came up with an o line combo that works. Caldwell has really got Flacco rolling uptempo and he used the underutilized beast Bernard Pierce the last 5 games. Rice in open space and Pierce up the middle, that's a tough combo. And finally they seem to realize that Boldin one on one with anyone is a great matchup, wth ? Lewis and Reed healthy too. Peaking. 31-20 Ravens

LOL @ beast Bernard Pierce..........kinda hard to see him being any factor in the game as San Fran is great against the run.......Pierce is not a duel threat back (he only had 7 catches all season) and SF will be keying on run plays when he is in the game.......I think for Baltimore to have any shot Ray Rice must play 90% of the plays as he is twice the threat Pierce is

Are you familiar with the term "Cam Cameron is no longer calling plays so now it's easy to score 30 points"? Ravens' offense has exploded with Cam gone. Anything's possible. Baltimore has joined many other teams, like the Jets, in realizing that you never hire a guy who coached for Miami. Never!!

What do you mean "a poor light"? This story is 13 years old. Anyone can think anything. If Lewis "got away with murder" then you must think our legal system, which most think is the best in the world, is the worst in the world because he was never even close to being tried for that crime. I have no doubt that he hung with the wrong crowd, especially on that night. As I said, you own the right to root for whoever you want for whatever reason. But do not ignore the FACTS that Lewis has become a great human being who is very charitable. We're not talking OJ or Kobe.

The basis of our legal system is set up that we would rather see ten guilty men go free before we convict one innocent man. Take a tour of the Internet and find some opinion articles about Lewis that aren't as charitable as the one I provided. The fact is that the "charitable" story says he lied to police. Other articles you find will have authors saying that Lewis would still be in jail if not for his status as a football star. I remember when it happened. I side with those who believe the district attorney's office did not pursue the matter against Lewis because of his status as a football star. I'll be rooting for the Niners.

Yes, that is our legal system & there are too many who have been convicted wrongly to adjust that system. Most of the time, I am very glad that our system works that way. "Charitable", you mean "kind" to Ray? I'm talking charitable as in giving without getting anything in return. And for that, it is a fact that Lewis is very charitable with his time & money. And to those "other authors", you have to wonder if he would "still be in jail" if he were not black. Further to those "other authors" what's their excuse for the other 2 men who were found not guilty? They never played professional football. Your argument does not hold water. That said, enjoy the game & root your little heart's desire out for whoever you choose. I do respect your opinion & enjoyed the debate.

Sport stars especially the powerful NFL can work miracles if they so choose. They have rich and powerful owners that are well connected. Justice......that like Janice Joplin when she sang freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose. Lyle Alzado tried to warn the public about the NFL......nobody listens until the evidence is overwhelming like against Lance Armstrong and some people are still in denial up to the very minute he finally admitted it. NFL can deflect guilt for anything if there isn't enough credible witnesses. The people who believe he is innocent only believe it because it wasn't their Son who was murdered. Murder is murder no matter how you look at it. If Ray Lewis was a nobody he would be in jail right now. Charitable work is being done by him through guilt of his own conscience. He isn't the first guy who found God after murdering someone. Plus, he had 4 wives.....were they all wrong about him.

Tell that 1st paragraph to Plaxico Burress or Mike Vick. Ray Lewis was in his 3rd year - hardly a big star. Once again, what's YOUR reason why his 2 buddies were never convicted? They never played pro football. Your post has no logic in it. In our legal system, in order to convict someone you have to have something called evidence. You better hope & pray that you don't end up simply in the wrong place at the wrong time with jurors who think like you.
