Wise Dan took the home the big categories!! Feel bad that ford lardned or little mike didn't take home any awards!! Same for Midwest thoroughbreds who should've won the owner of the year category!!

Midwest T-breds should have taken home the hardware. Period! As for the other horses, I really like Little Mike and even though he didn't win Older Turf Male, at least Romans won as best trainer over Baffert & Pletcher.

Maybe this is common knowledge for everyone else but I didn't know that Morton Fink, owner and breeder of Wise Dan, is from and still lives in Illinois.  Wise Dan's win of three Eclipse Awards is even better now with a local hitting the jackpot.

Has Wise Dan run outside of California?  Even though he has an Illinois owner, I do not think there was any interest in running him in the Million last year.

Dan, for the most part, he was at Keeneland and Churchill.

I doubt they seriously considered running him at a mile and a quarter.

He ran in California only one time in his life, the BC setting a track record. He ran 6 times at 5 different tracks and 4 different states winning all but 1 by a head. He has run 1 1/8 miles 4 times winning 3 and finishing 2nd by a head. He can get 1 1/4 easily.
