I think it would be a travesty if Midwest Thoroughbreds is not the owned of the year. Just checked out their stats and they are unbelievable! 542 wins and over $10,000,000 in purses are numbers that one would make up in fairy tales when you consider they had no graded Stakes horses! He The doubled the earnings of the owner in the #2 spot. I sure hope they get this right tonight.

Hopefully, they will, but there is a bias against those dirty claiming owners.

If they don't it will be Jim Millers fault again ! Jim Miller's? How about for allegedly introducing the herpes virus onto the Haw backside via "the pony" and then going to extraordinary lengths (w/conspiracy from Haw association vet and Kendall Road clinic) to cover it all up?
|
You might technically have me on ignore, but everyone knows you're still peeking!

I know that they run claimers but the numbers are so unbelievable that there is no way Midwest should not have won the award. Who are the fools who get to vote? Is there a list? Its moments like this that really hurt the sport and make it look like the Academy Awards where it's who you know and not what you did. Midwest Thoroughbreds numbers this year will probably never be equaled.

Mel,
I agree totally with you on this one ! What else would they have needed to do move up a claim and win the derby ?

What a night for Wise Dan, 3 Eclipse Awards! It would have been perfect for me if we could have added Midwest. Here's to the best horse on the planet for 2012...

Good to see Dale Romans win Trainer of the Year
"No matter what the New York Times says, this is still the greatest sport in America." Love it.

Id take frankel
One country, one surface = limitations. He was great however. He would have had a shot at HOY here if he would have showed up for the BC. One big race here with his record would have done it. He never ran in the Arc and never ran in the BC and that will always be a knock. It would be like someone running all his races in Illinois and saying they were the best ever. Excelebration was Frankel's main threat and he can only muster a 4th place finish against Wise Dan and company. Wise Dan could have won the BC classic if he chose to race in it. Frankel was outstanding, but in my opinion would never get to the wire before Wise Dan on any surface more times than not.

Wise Dan took the home the big categories!! Feel bad that ford lardned or little mike didn't take home any awards!! Same for Midwest thoroughbreds who should've won the owner of the year category!!
