Don't know how or why they left him up.
I guess in Cali its a different world. Do that to someones horse here and you might get smacked around.

Replay is from Dec 22 last year.  Race 4

Its in the archives.

Now if a driver or trainer messes up they are fined or suspended.

Obviously the Judges here screwed up. The horse he head butted 2 times had to check up hard.
At the very minimal he should have been placed behind the horse he head butted. Who finished 4Th.

Why aren't the judges fined or suspended for such a poor decision?

This horse is left up while Campbells horse was taken down for rating a mile at the BC.

Judges are a problem and we need to have a board that reviews them too.

They need to be held accountable for their actions.

I am not saying Lackey is blameless, but look at the pocket horse as field approaches the quarter. It looks like the driver is struggling to gain control and keep him from running up on Lackey's horse. I do NOT think it is because Lackey slammed on the brakes after clearing. I would have brought in THAT driver, too, and told him to keep his hands in the handholds and watch where he was going.

Agree with you JLB.

The pocket horse was breathing down his neck and is the one to blame.

Having been around the game for 25 years...this happens A LOT....a lot more than anyone would really realize. This time the guy got taken down is all.

That happens all the time.
sometimes the trailing horse has his head almost in front of the driver in front.

In no way can yo hit the animal with your helmet.
Which is IMO worst than hitting him with a whip.

Horses are very sensitive around their mouth and nose, just a bump will get a guy off your shoulder....the worst is when a guy is climbing right up on you and you catch a knee in the middle off your back...its very tough to hold your horse when you get the wind knocked out of you...not very fun....cant blame a driver for getting one from climbing up on you...it dangerous and yes its too bad the horse gets the tap in the lips head shake
