Sandy was the best pitcher I have ever seen !!
Curve ball that would drop off the end of a table !!
You would have had to seen it, to believe it !!
3 of the most incredible years ever posted by any pitcher before his injury forced him into early retirement !!

After the black sox scandal which nearly killed baseball a board was put in every locker room in the major leagues.
It' still ther today.
It explains the gambling rules for major leaguers.
He broke it time and again.
Worst of all he wouldn't come clean until he found out that;s what people wanted.
He is garbage pure and simple.
Enjoy his reality show on T.
YOu won't be seeing his name in the hall of fame.
Ever!
He's a stiff~~Would not have been outed if he would have paid off his bookie~~Hung the kid out to dry that was making his bets for him causing the kid to roll over on him~~Charlie Hustle, they got the name right!

Sosa was the classic cheat. The bat corking incident gave you an idea of that. His numbers were incredibly inflated.....he just wasnt even close to a HOF type caliber player. A defensive liability to say the least. Not surprisingly , his feeble attempt at
reviving his career with the Orioles was a bust and he was playing at about 60 pounds less than his Cub days. He really made it look obvious.

Pudge Rodriguez is another who has the numbers, but they are absolute nonsense. After drug testing was implemented, he was anything but Pudge. The slimmed down version finished out the career. Looked nothing at all like the Pudge who was around for the majority of his playing days. Did they think they were fooling anybody ?

Two examples of how the entire era was a joke. When testing came into play, it became a pitchers game again. These guys belong nowhere near Cooperstown

Pudge became a major disappointment

Disagree.
He didn't throw games etc etc.
To competitive for that.

He is also my favorite player ever to watch play baseball.

And the reason the Phillies won the WS in 1980.

Him not being in the HOF is like the Beatles not being in the rock and roll hall of fame.

Didn't throw games?  Technically, no.  In reality, yes.

As a manager, lets say he has a bet on today's game and no bet on tomorrow's game (or the reverse).  Don't you think his piticher usage might affect his judgment depending on which game he bet his money?

You KNOW he was thinking about his bets as he made his changes.

Very hypothetical.

I never did understand the dislike for Rose.

Was such a pleasure to watch play the game.
I am only really worried about his career as a player and it was stellar.
