Good job by the Baseball Writers.  thumbs up  They got this right. Hopefully they dont ease
up on their position in the future and players like Bonds, Clemens, Sosa and any PED abusers never see Cooperstown

It wont get any easier for these creeps with Maddux, Glavine, Thomas and Kent on the ballot next year.

Its bad enough these guys made a mockery of baseball for all of those years. You can't compund the problem and put them in the HOF. They dont deserve an honor like that. Ever.

They got it wrong.

I have no issue with not letting the steroid freaks in.

But Biggio, Trammell, Jack Morris and a few others not in do deserve to be in.

They are out of control and wanted to make a statement.

The writers are idiots and out of control.

Playing god.

Morris has failed to get in 14 years in a row. What makes him good enough now ? His numbers dont rank him among the best ever.  Not even close. Biggio never lead the league in anything and the 3000 hits are a product of 20 years in the game. A classic numbers compiler. Never dominant---just a solid player. Trammell is not HOF worthy and wasnt even close again. Good luck with him

Like I said, they got it right

Who are the "few others? "

Agree 100% . But nobody with 3000 hits has ever failed to get in. Im not so sure he wasnt on the juice either.  His buddy Bagwell certainly was. Take a look at before and after  pictures of Jeff. They are scary

Both are a joke. Good point. Maz got in for one home run and Rizzutto was from HOF material but the whining NY media and fans (as you noted ) campaigned forever and The Veterans Commitee caved. They are even worse than some moderators  bang head

Google Ray Schalk if you want to see the player with the least credentials.

Biggio deserves it on many levels.

Kenny Lofton is close also.

Old persons committee will get Biggio.

But most likely after waiting a few years the writers will do it.

Again by playing god. and making the guy wait.

You either are a HOFer or not.

This making guys wait is BS.

Personally I will never step foot into the place until Pete Rose is in the HOF.

Biggio played all the middle infield positions.

If he had played his career in NYC hed be like they make Jeter and Rivera out to be.

Same goes for Edgar Martinez. One of the 5 best right handed hitters ever.
Played in Seattle so he will have to wait.

Lofton will be another old timers guy.

As always the buffoon brigade gives 0 to defense and other intangibles.

Very pleased Piaaza isn't in.
His defense was so bad at a defensive position that he doesn't rate it even without the PEDs.

You understand that CF SS 2B and Catcher are defensive positions?

So when your chubby nubby fingers are checking out the stats you might want to factor that?

You seem to rail on only the players in from defensive postions.

But from your comments in this thread I wouldn't expect you to understand the sport.

You probably think Ryan Howard is a good player.

You must think Frank Milby and Donnie Russell are great drivers judging from your racing posts?

Biggio is overrated...regardless of what city he played in.
Defense is important....but Maz defense is way overrated and couldnt hit a lick, and Biggio isnt going to be compared with Ozzie Smith anytime soon . Smith wasnt a bad hitter his last 8 seasons either.

If Biggio gets in, its going to be solely on those 3000 hits.
