In the Ghetto. And to think it was 1969 when he recorded it. Fits so well even today. This version is from 72. Some say the kings voice was at its best here. It is my second favorite you tube video ever. Click you wont be disappointed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ox1Tore9nwAs the snow flies On a cold and gray Chicago mornin' A poor little baby child is born In the ghetto And his mama cries Cause if there's one thing that she don't need It's another hungry mouth to feed In the ghetto People, don't you understand The child needs a helping hand Or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day Take a look at you and me, Are we too blind to see, Do we simply turn our heads And look the other way Well the world turns And a hungry little boy with a runny nose Plays in the street as the cold wind blows In the ghetto And his hunger burns So he starts to roam the streets at night And he learns how to steal And he learns how to fight In the ghetto Then one night in desperation A young man breaks away He buys a gun, steals a car, Tries to run, but he don't get far And his mama cries As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man Face down on the street with a gun in his hand In the ghetto As her young man dies, On a cold and gray Chicago mornin', Another little baby child is born In the ghetto And his mama cries

I meant the king Elvis Presley.
But *** will do.
I guess if Elvis Grbac sang on a song that will work too.

Did Presley ever write any songs of his own? There is a song called Walk a Mile In My Shoes that I really like....the lyrics are timeless...much like In The Ghetto

My best friend bought 4 tickets to Elvis show at Nassau Coliseum, it was the show he was scheduled at before he died. He didn't want his money for Tix refunded, he kept them for keepsake.

I was fully aware Elvis didn't write in the ghetto and Mac Davis did. Elvis was a performer and an entertainer. If you watch the original video I posted. It has over 19 million views. It is an Elvis song. Which leads me to my second favorite Elvis song and video. Which he also didn't write. With over 23 million views. This video is particularly good because it does some flashbacks to young Elvis. These are 2 of my top 3 videos of all time. Enjoy. Long live the king. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBmAPYkPeYU

I think the price on the tickets was either $4.50 or $6.50 if I'm not mistaken. My cousin had tickets for that night as well. He returned his to Ticket-tron.

I told him to get in here. He is a fan too. He is in San Fransicko for the weekend on business. I am guessing he will be visiting the bath houses though too. Lots of people believe that the 71-72 tours the Kings voice was at its peak. It really is flawless. If you watch that original in the ghetto video I posted. Remember thats a live performance. It is amazing. It is perfect. 68-72 Elvis is my favorite.

My Mother loved and still does love Elvis and I had to hear it all the time. My fav's are Love Me, not love me tender, but Love Me. Are You Lonesome Tonight, and My Way. Just a tid bit here, I actually ended up doing some Elvis impersonations while I was in High School and shortly thereafter. Alot of fun. But ridiculous in itself! lol.. Go ahead, let the jabs begin! lol
