Hunch plays or horses names

Today at I saw to horses I like at Hollywood just the names or hunch play pumpkin pie to English pudding for fun!
I'm curious do any of uplay these kind of bets?

There used to be a local horse named "Our Papa Joe" who I bet and won on regularly.   My Father's name was Joseph but everyone called him Joe.   In fact, he bet Our Papa Joe but we both bet him when he was at his best, which was on the inner turf at Arlington.   Back in the day, the inner turf was separated from the outer turf to save the grass for Handicap horses.   Joe ate up the short turns on the inner turf and when he came off a few losses on the outer turf, you could get him at a decent price on the inner turf.  It was like taking candy from a baby.

I used to bet Big Wags because our last name is Wagner.  Then Party with Brando because my son's friends all call him Brando.  The I had all these tickets in my horse folders and realized I had none for my other son's name.  So thankfully, there came some Adam horses. 

Usually I only bet names just to keep in my horse folders.   I never think I'm going to win on them.

But I do get hunches on south American races and they pay well.  I've been real lucky on those tracks.

I've never handicapped with names but I once tried something really different at Arlington. I tried to do it by ESP (at that time, I was going to try anything that might work). A couple of months ago, I shared this story with Bob Ehalt on his blog. Bob said I gave up too soon and could have been known as the Mystic Handicapper. When I recently reminded my husband of the ESP handicapping, he said "and you're admitting to that?" It's one of those dumb things you look back at and laugh at yourself about it. Oh, if only I could foresee some of those longshots in tri's and super's. I did give it a try though.

Thanks Fuzzy. I always enjoy reading what you have to say and especially enjoy your humor. I wish I knew as much about horses as you do. You are so lucky to be able to spend time with them every day. I'm envious.

i love betting all cat, kitten, kit, feline, etc horse names ....i box 'like' names...ala - winter memories and snow fairy for example - i also have been known to tri -box 'sentences ' ... ala  - lil 'cindy lou' ......went 'for a walk'....to see the 'circus clown'.....lol
