Bud Hatfield and Kelly Walker have been named the morning line favorites in their respective Delvin Miller Amateur Driving Championship events, slated to go as races 8 and 12 on Sunday (November 18) afternoon at Harrah's Philadelphia.
Kelly Walker, who is also slated to drive three others earlier in the card, is the 5-2 morning line favorite in the $15,000 Silver Cup aboard Howmuchubench, leaving from post one in the nine-horse field. Howmuchubench has taken a seasonal mark of 1:56.1, and will have to contend with the likes of Travelin Preacher (post 3, Joe Faraldo, 4-1) and Harrah's Philadelphia regular Swift Kid (post 4, Mark Schullstrom, 6-1) in the 1-1/4-mile event.
In the $25,000 Gold Cup, also featuring a nine-horse field at 1-1/4 miles, Bud Hatfield will drive 5-2 morning line favorite Wolf's Jann (post 5), who leads the field in 2012 wins (8), earnings (over $46,000), and seasonal mark (1:55.1). Tremendous Hit (post 3, Bob Hechkoff, 4-1) and Oliver Kiss (post 4, Steve Oldford, 8-1) have been consistent competitors this season as well, registering seven and six wins, respectively.
Looking ahead
Wednesday racing returns this upcoming week at Harrah's Philadelphia, with first post at 12:40. After a dark day on Thanksgiving, racing goes under the lights on Friday (November 23), with a 6:30 start time. Sunday (November 25)'s card then will begin at 12:40, with a George Napolitano bobblehead giveaway slated that day for on-track fans.
