Idk if they still do it, last heard about it few yr ago on radio, I think they basically show you how to tack up a horse, how to hold reins, whip, etc, then you get in a 2man cart out on track, they record race, announcer calls race live, you get a tape n that's that.. Always sounded fun, anyone ever do this? I realize hawthorne is in season so chances are very slim it's currently operating but was curious if anyone's attended in the past

33 years ago I spent a day at Lou Millers school at Roosevelt Raceway. He asked me what experence I had and I told him pari mutual. He said if Carmines on your left and Buddy Gilmour is on your right what do you do ? I responded, "Run to the window"

Ask Carmine who he bet on and then ask Buddy who HE bet on and you'd have a real good idea of who is going to win the race.
