Well since TVG has the simulcast production and has them announcers appearing on it but why can't Kurt Hoover still be on it? Ain't quite outrageous???

Because this ain't Kindergarten, that's why.

TVG owns the broadcast rights to Holly Park now, and Hoover has a contract with HRTV (as well as one with Hollywood Park, and who knows how many other racing and broadcast organizations).

With everybody needing 17 or 18 jobs in racing just to cobble together one shabby existence, I'm only surprised when these conflicts of interest don't happen more often.

Not surprising, as Hoover is extremely sharp, and well-liked to boot.

People being upset by change is no big deal, though: a few people complain every time Michael Wrona gets fired (how many times? AP, LS, FG, Retama...lost count)...proving that there is no accounting for taste.

Also was track announcer at Hollywood Park too. Wonder if he's going to retire after Golden Gate and Santa Rosa?
