I for one am happy to play along this afternoon after a brief hiatus.

I'm playing 2,5 w 1 Doubles

The 2 was just sucked along in that Q, but it was to good ones and being a 3 year old Rocknroll...she has license to get good.  The 5 will be handled carefully I'm guessing, but she was going well in the lane last week and a 6 horse field only helps.

Good luck to all enjoying the Afternoon Delight!

Landy was good to me in the first, but Pat I'm pretty sure dumped the 1 in the 2nd.  Luckily I broke about even going against the bridge jump in the 2nd.  I still can't believe someone would be Pat Berry on a cheap claimer at Freehold that much to show.

Another mini-bridge jump race 3 Chester.  Granted Dave Miller didn't stiff like Pat Berry, but how many times can I fall into profit thanks to nickels?

It has gotten progressively harder, both in terms of profit and stomachability, over the course of the past few years. The historical signifance of that track for me, makes me continue to harbor fond feelings for it, and thus play it.  Often times I find myself playing along, but primarily use the 3 hours it runs as prep time for other tracks racing that evening.

For me it is as much a bet-against track as it is a bet-for track, meaning I find drivers or horses that just figure too much and play against them based on their under value.  Even though I did single him in the 2nd race, Pat Berry was such a horse in the 2nd race today.  How could he miss?  Yet he did, as they so often do at this track.

In this upcoming race 7, Look Siera (number 5 horse) has good reason in my book to improve and offers great value, while Ginsburg at even money or below is probably not a good thing.

That was a good example of why not to play much there.  Chase Vandervort pulls and clogs, and Eric is just not swift enough to make a speedy decision.  Short of 10 good horse with 10 good drivers, this is primarily a human game and that fact eludes many people.

Chester race 8 is a good example why I could not consider that track more playable than Freehold

Casino King might be the favorite vs. some legitimate horses.  Casino King the 15K claimer, versus horses you couldn't get for 100K.  We'll see how it turns out, but I will just watch.

And despite lagging the gate 2 lengths and getting away poorly, Casino King circles 5 wide and nearly wins, only losing to a horse that saved ground and found room inside late.  So was the cheapest horse in the race the best today, looked like it.  I only wish I could get whatever they use for my personal well-being.  Screw a fountain of youth.

Chester needs night racing....   ghosttown during the day.....    at least at night....they might attract the degenerate casino crowd.....

the few night races they host during the summer get some pretty fast times.  the moisture from the delaware river settles onto the track and tightens it up nicely thumbs up

Eric, either on his own or by advice, over drove her this week after the trouble of the two previous trips.  So yup, she still owes me.  I might chase once more and would love to see her back at Chester without Eric.  I'll keep an eye on the Cape too!
