I went to a seminar a few months back at UC davis on this and other disease !

What did they mention about the air quality in Stickney?

EPA AIR QUALITY REPORT

The poorest air qualities according to the EPA

1) Chernobyl
2) Gary, Indiana
3) Cicero, IL

I would say #4 would be the air quality in the Hawthorne bathrooms after your sampling of the quality food....

Thanks for the bathroom update as well but still will not be going to Hawthorne anytime in this lifetime.

My last visit was for the Tony Morgan bobblehead giveaway years ago thumbs up

So let me see ... that was what ... 1999? 2000? Certainly tells the assembled readership that what you write about Hawthorne is all the latest, current stuff coming from a first class eyewitness! thumbs up

You do know that JZ left Hawthorne because of the allergic reactions he was having to the air...

I know what was said at the time he left, and I called BS on it back then, too: again, how come the "horrible Hawthorne air" didn't bother Santana when he was winning the jock's title here?

Santana has been barely able to stay in the Top 10 at Calder, in spite of the supposedly much more groovy air down there; in the current meeting, he has a grand total of *six* wins, while leader Luis Saez has 61.

If you can't figure out that there is something else going on with this Santana guy, I can't help you, but it's pretty obvious that blaming Hawthorne's air for his declining stats was him or his agent going for the easy scapegoat; it simply doesn't add up.

I make sure all my horses have a vaccine for equine herpes, but I am not a vet so I don't know if a horse can get herpes if they have been vaccinated, but I figure if they are vaccinated they should not be at risk.

From what I've read, the vaccine is unreliable.

the vaccine isn't very effective against this particular strain of the herpes virus according to my vet.

Can someone tell me why horses trained by Breuggeman and Divito are allowed to race? Are they in a different barn than Barn A?

I have not seen a DiVito horse run yet , dont know about Bruegmann. I know DiVito's Third Chance and Banner Bill will not be running in the Illinois stakes this weekend, Third Chance was odd's on 4 for 4 this year and once against the boys!

They have a lot of horses, might be in more than one barn. They could have shipped in as well.

They pretty much indicated that Third Chance would be retired after this race & bred to City Zip.

I don't know if those plans will change & they will give 3rd chance a start at Gulfstream..

Amazing animal

according to Ron Magers, this would be her last race..I am not sure how long the quarantine would last but would like to see her get 1 more shot against open stakes horses.
I know she failed at Gulfstream after some suicidal fractions- she seems sharper & stronger now

If Mr Magers is going to bred her, and keep the foal,  another start or win really doesn't make any differance . But yes I would like to see one more run. For now lets wish for good health for her and all the others!

Roger Bruggerman has the majority of his horses in Barn B and only a handful which are isolated in Barn A.  A separate group of people take care of these horses than those in the main barn.  I received this information from a reliable source inside the barn that I have absolute faith in.   Their is no truth to the rumors about horses being moved or any other rumors being spread.  feel free to ask me any questions you have regarding this matter...

Hawthorne had nothing to do with this disease and either did the air quality that anyone would readily admit is bad. Here is a link that will answer most questions about this dreadful equine disease.

Nice work by Hawthorne for limiting the damage that this could do
