That's too bad... when I was a kid, I was actually disturbed about eating the traditional Joosh dish known as kasha with varnishkas, as I actually was worried that varnish was somehow involved.

But I guess we can't go there.  Too bad.

Well played, TPM.  Great posts. Smiley

You don't even know who half these posters are... you're just lashing out at people willy-nilly.  I appreciate that being a tin man in the sticks is not the most fulfilling career, but your rage, however understandable, is still misdirected.

Lol..   trophy for not omitting the J! TKS embodies everything the ideal poster should be, knowledgeable, funny and fair..

For all the anti-fun crowd, I pose this question.. With all the racing knowledge shared collectively on this site, when a racing topic starts, after a few pages hasn't the topic pretty much been covered extensively? After a racing related thread has been up for a cpl days isn't there basically nothing new to add? If you pundits feel there's more to say about the topic then by all means elaborate.. However, there isn't a whole lot of "new" stuff going on that hasn't already been discussed ad nauseam- how can you guys not see that without joking and the occasional off-topic chatter that this site would be completely dead? Clearly you guys like "getting into it" with posters you dislike or disagree with.. If you really cared about racing and nothing else why dont you just ignore the topic and/or posters? Essentially you're spending a lot of time arguing about personal differences instead of racing.. Why can't "we" joke and laugh about stuff? Why does this bother you so much

Fair question, but the answer on the t-bred side is actually "no."

Agree on TB side being underwhelming.. Re: Joosh food, gave up on it, all pretty bad.. Most in fam love the stuff but its all gross to me, there's a reason you can't order it at a restaurant n no one eats it except on holidays

Perhaps I wasn't clear; the t-bred debates go on and on for a reason... there's much to debate, and, the game is at least somewhat alive to boot.

As for Joosh cooking, it basically boils down to boiling down... take flavorful piece of meat, throw in pot of hot water for several geological epochs, consume.  Then go out for Chinese.

Pastrami, too, though if you ever saw the conditions on the pastrami farms, you'd never eat one again.  At least insist on free-range pastrami.  Poor things...

In a word, yes.

In my last day as an employee of another concern, I went out to lunch with 7-8 other fellows, most Irish, none Joosh... natch, they asked me where a good Jewish deli was, and natch, I knew (a place named Andel's).  They all ordered their corned beef sandwiches, and I waited with trepidation for the impending blow, and it came:  all mayo.  People looked, too... it was very funny.

From one of the greatest "Simpsons" episodes ever:

"Bart and Lisa observe from a nearby booth.

   Waitress: And for you, sir?
Rabbi K:  Ah, let's see.  I want a nice sandwich.  But the Joey Bishop,
eh, too fatty.  the Jackie Mason?  I dunno, sauerkraut makes me
gas.  Bruce Willis?  I don't even like his work!  What is this?
             Krusty the Klown?
Waitress: That's ham, sausage, and bacon, with a smidge of mayo.
   Rabbi K:  What!?
   Waitress: On white bread."
