When u are in Selma , you are not to far from John Harris farm and they really give you a excellent tour of their operation it's gorgeous place.

Hanson himself does not paint a great picture of Selma these days... he wrote a book called Mexifornia, so you can see where he's coming from, though others I know from the general area voice the same general complaints:  squatters, lawlessness, a hands-off attitude by the local gendarmes, etc.   Never been up there meself... yet.

Selma is horrible. Drive threw Selma fast and blink hoping you miss it.

Kingsburg a few minutes away quite the oposite.
Where Harris farms is quite different and very nice.
They have a very nice set up and its nice to see some of the very nice California Sires like Unusual Heat you cant mistake him and all the Cee's Tizzy's! You cant mistake them either the foals are so nice to see now with there mares.

This sounds a great deal like what's going on all over the West, with various ranchers fencing off and blocking access to public lands for their own personal use like it's the 1890's, and the gendarmes doing pretty much nothing or even in some cases coming down on the side of the miscreants. Those "good Americans" seizing public land are setting a real bad example for these new arrivals in the country.

So what would be your solution?
What should these Americans do?

I happen to be thankful I call Yimmy my friend. For anyone who doesnt know Yimmy, an understanding of who he is can be gained by his name itself:

•The name of Yimmy creates a desire to be of service to others.

•He desires his life to be orderly and systematized and keep his surroundings neat and tidy, but others often see him as fussy over little things. This point can be seen by Yimmy wanting to have true horse racing conversations and interactions, sometimes he finds frustration in people that cant articulate themselves....but there are only a few of these people (that I know of).

•He is a patient person and will work hard one step at a time to accomplish his endeavours.

•He tends to be thorough in building a solid foundation of fact and logic.

•The name Yimmy creates idealism and the urge to help others, and tends to make many friends.

Thank you kindly, e-man.  I am unworthy, good sir.

As for the "neat and tidy," my wife begs to differ.  But, as always, I digress...

James is very smart and very talented.  Wish I could hear him at the t-breds.

The Hawthorne guy isn't terrible, but he's no Dooley, and he's no Witherite.

I have to learn a few words of all these goofy languages so I can talk to hockey players, many of whom come from weird places (or, worse yet, Canada Wink).  Of course, the last laff's on me, what with the NHL on strike.
