The big German horse that won this last year she  is in quartine and cannot defend her ARC title.

She is based at a track in Cologne, Germany and a different horse at that track came down with EIA (swamp fever) so there is a total lockdown for all horses on the grounds for three months.  If I owned this horse I would be physically ill to miss the biggest race of the year due to circumstances completely out of my control.  This is a new level of bad luck.  With the defections of Snow Fairy and Nathaniel, Danedream would have vied for favoritism with Coolmore's Camelot, who is still not confirmed but very likely to run on Sunday morning.
