I know this goes on a lot at smaller harness tracks with people trying to rob the offshores.....But who takes Bangor? I have played with about 20 different offshore places and don't remember any of them taking Bangor....In the 9th race Saturday the exacta came 6.50 to 1 over 18-1 and paid $8.80:

The exacta and trifecta paid what it should have on paper, I couldn't get the final pool totals but it appeared that someone bet like $300 to win on the other five horses going behind the gate as they all went off basically the same price. The winner who paid $15.00 was literally like a 2-5 shot in the race and could never lose and the 3 was second best on paper (as you can see by the low place prices)....I cant understand that type of investment because there is no way those offshore places are paying off on a race like that (I assume they had to find at least one offshore who took Bangor or there would have been no point to lay out all that money)

Someone has been doing this at Bangor during their summer meet on a fairly regular basis. Why who knows....but there's no offshore around that would take Bangor. Maybe it's the same guy who spread 2k on 5 horses in a race @ the Meadowlands quite a few times this year?

Its probaly the Parham group--they are betting too much with the tiny pools and making it lookk real bad---And yes an open window is full swing They made a Buffalo double $2.70 with a $4.00 horse and $26.00 horse. Figure it out already. Its blatant larceny. Not pool manipulating. Jusy past posting with open windows |

open window believers say that it has been going on for yrs same as their claim about juicing
handles at racetracks were fine until about 2005-6 check the meds handle back then
then the adw and offshore rage began to peak
add in the 24 hr availability of the live poker boom on or offshore
don't forget all the racinos built since 2001 around the country and last but not least the worst depression the country has seen
you want to blame the open window for all the drop in handle go for it
though it looks to me and others the very same people here moaning about it are still betting the races |

Nope----I make a few bets when I love something---but they cant open window me on closers, so that what I play---harder to win---but I get value. TOL's odds went up in the race you speak of---like all closers Every frontrunner gets slammed---Ever notice ? I dont lie by the way |

i am not disputing the open window or drugs as reasons for the sports decline
imo once the monopoly on betting was busted tracks were at a loss when it came to customer service
having tvg as the 1st adw is a perfect example
drugs and windows are just the last straw |
