Churchill Downs is considering a September meet that would take those dates away from Turfway Park (which has been having a pretty bad meet this year so far.)

"Churchillís stronger racing product means it could offer richer purses than Turfway and potentially draw Kentucky trainers and owners who otherwise would send horses to other states where purses are supplemented with casino revenues."

Or other nearby states where they also have a track property running in September?

Coming off a bit of a layoff, isn't he?  If he won, it would certainly be his Finest Hour.

of course this is a no brainer

if i hear Battaglia say "gaining ground" in every race--i would go berserker

Kentucky has lots of red tape--so Turfway and CD would need a double secret deal(like CD paying them cash)then maybe it will happen--just knowing how things work--i have a hunch maybe 2014

anything to take days away from synthetics i applaud trophy

I wouldn't consider a wager until I saw if that long layoff meant first time fronts.

 Cheesy   9.9

Also depends on the trainer... remember, Clement and Chad are tough with those Eurofirsters.   Wink  Even Graham Motion wins with one every now and again.

Not a bad idea. But aren't the horses that just ran are waiting for Keeneland? Also they just ran at Saratoga too

Last time I checked a calendar, September was actually between August and October.  Hmmmm . . .

Well, it IS Race Track Phil's birthday.  You're probably tired out from the festivities out there.   Wink
